Some people are lazy about reading the Koran even though it contains instructions for living in the world.
Some people feel they don't have time to read the Koran even though there are great rewards in it.
Some people feel they are unable to learn the Koran because it is difficult, they say, even though reading it is very easy and brings great benefits. Let's pay attention to the following:
Reading the Koran is a trade that never loses
{Those who recite the Book of God and establish prayer and spend of what We have provided them secretly and openly, hoping for a trade that will never fail. (29) That He may pay them their wages in full. Their hand of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving, Most Gracious (30)}
"Indeed, those who always read the book of God and establish prayer and spend part of the sustenance that We have bestowed on them secretly and openly, they expect a business that will not lose". "That God may complete their reward and increase them from His bounty. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Most Gracious." (QS. Fathir: 29-30).
Ibn Katsir, may God have mercy on him, said,
Qatada, may God have mercy on him, said: When Mutarrif, may God have mercy on him, recited this verse, he would say: This is the verse of the reciters.
"Qatadah (died: 118 AH) may Allah have mercy on him said, "Mutharrif bin Abdullah (Tabi'in, died 95 AH) if he read this verse he said: "This is the verse of those who like to read the Quran" (See the book Tafsir Al Quran Al Azhim).
Ash Syaukani (d: 1281H), may Allah have mercy on him, said,
That is, they continue to recite it and continue it.
"The meaning is to read it continuously and become a habit" (See the book Tafsir Fath Al Qadir).
Where does the side of not losing trade by reading Al Quran come from?
One letter is rewarded with 1 good and multiplied into 10 good.
On the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “Whoever reads a letter from the Book of God will have a good deed for it, and a good deed is ten times greater than it.” I say “lam” is a letter, but “alif” is a letter, “lam” is a letter, and “mim” is a letter.”
"Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may God be pleased with him, said: "The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever recites one letter from the Qur'an, he will have one good deed with that recitation, one good deed will be multiplied into 10 such good deeds, and I do not say that one letter will but Alif one letter, Laam one letter and Miim one letter." (HR. Tirmidhi and authenticated in the book Sahih Al Jami', no. 6469)
On the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, may God be pleased with him, he said: Learn this Qur’an, for you will be rewarded for reciting it with every letter ten good deeds. However, I do not say with pain, but with Alif, Lam, and Meem, with each letter having ten good deeds.
"Abdullah bin Mas'ud radhiyallahu 'anhu said: "Learn this Al-Quran, because in fact you are rewarded by reading it, each letter has 10 good deeds, I am not saying that for Alm, but for Alif, Laam, Miim, each letter has ten good deeds. " (Atsar's narration of Ad Darimy and mentioned in the book Silsilat Al Ahadits Ash Shahihah, no. 660).
And this hadith shows very clearly, that any Muslim who reads the Koran, whether he understands it or not, will receive the reward as promised. And indeed the glory of Allah Ta'ala is vast, covering all creatures, whether Arabs or 'Ajam (who are not Arabs), whether they can speak Arabic or not.
Goodness will wipe out wrongdoing.
{Indeed, good deeds remove evil deeds} [Hud: 114]
"Indeed, good deeds wipe out (sins) bad deeds." (QS. Hud: 114)
Every time the quantity of reading increases, the reward from God increases.
On the authority of Tamim Al-Dari, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “Whoever recites a hundred verses in a night, Qunut of the night will be recorded for him.”
"Tamim Ad Dary, may God be pleased with him, said: "The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever recites 100 verses in one night, the reward of praying all night will be written for him." (HR. Ahmad and authenticated in the book Sahih Al Jami', no. 6468).
The recitation of the Quran will become more grand and noble if it happens in prayer.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Would any of you like, when he returned to his family, to find within him three calves and fat bones?” Say Na yes. He said, “Three verses that one of you recites in his prayer are better for him than three fat, boney verses.”
"Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu 'anhu narrated that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "Would one of you if he returned to his house to find 3 pregnant, fat and big camels inside?" We (the companions) answered: "Yes", Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "One of you reading three verses in prayer is better for him than getting three pregnant, fat and big camels." (HR. Muslim).
Reading Al Quran however will bring good
On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: The Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - said: “The one who is skilled in the Qur’an is among the honorable and righteous travelers, and the one who recites the Qur’an and enjoys it while he is in it.” And it is difficult for him, and he will have two rewards.”
"Aisyah radhiyallahu 'anha narrated that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam said: "A person who can read the Koran fluently will be with the noble angels and always obey Allah, as for those who read the Koran and stammer in it and have difficulty reading it. then he will have two rewards” (HR. Muslim).
Reading the Quran will bring intercession
On the authority of Abu Umamah Al-Bahili, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - saying: “Recite the Qur’an, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for its companions...
"Abu Umamah Al Bahily radhiyallahu 'anhu said: "I have heard the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, say: "Recite the Qur'an because indeed he will come on the Day of Resurrection as an intercessor for those who read it" (HR. Muslim).
There are still many other priorities that motivate a person to increase the reading of the Quran, especially in the month of reading the Quran.
And in this article, we only mention a small part of the virtues of reading the Koran, not mention all of its virtues.
And it turns out that the generation that God is pleased with, they are the people who are active and passionate about reading the Quran, even they have their own schedule to read the Quran.
On the authority of Abu Musa, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - said: “Indeed, I recognize the voices of the Ash’arites’ accompaniment to the Qur’an when they enter at night, and I know their dwellings.” recite the Qur’an by their voices at night, even though I did not see their resting places during the day...”
"Abu Musa Al Ash'ary, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Indeed, I truly know the voice of the people of Ash'ary descent by reciting the Qur'an, if they enter at night and I know the house- their houses from their voices reciting Al Quran at night, although in fact I have not seen their houses when they stay (there) during the day..." (HR. Muslim).
MashaAllah, let's compare with ourselves what we hold at night, some of them hold the television remote watching programs which are sometimes not only useless but contain sin and immorality, especially in the month of Ramadan.
And if the history below is authentic, of course it will also be a strengthening argument, that the habit of the generation that is pleased with Allah, namely the friends of Allah, may Allah be pleased with them, is that at night they always read the Koran. However, in the history below, some hadith scholars weaken it.
On the authority of Abu Salih, may God have mercy on him, he said: Ka’b, may God be pleased with him, said: We find it written: Muhammad is the Messenger of God - may God bless him and grant him peace - neither being rude nor harsh, nor making noise in the markets, and it is not permissible He commits an evil and a bad deed, but he pardons and forgives, and his praising nation glorifies God Almighty for Every find, and they praise Him in every position, they gather together on their halves, and they perform ablution on their limbs, their caller calls in the atmosphere of the sky, describe it. In fighting and in prayer they are equal. They have a sound at night like the sound of bees. His birth was in Mecca, his emigration was in Thebes, and his rule was in the month of Ramadan. Umm.
"Abu Salih said: "Ka'ab radhiyallahu 'anhu said: "We find it written (in another holy book): "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu 'alahi wasallam, not rude, not angry, does not shout in the market, does not repay evil with evil but pardons and forgives, and his people (companions) are those who always praise Allah, magnify Allah 'Azza wa Jalla for every matter, praise Him in every position, limit their clothes to half their calves, perform ablution until the ends of their limbs, which make the call to prayer sound at the top, their rows in battle and in prayer are the same (average), they have a buzzing sound like the buzzing of bees at night, his birthplace is Mecca, his hijra place is Thayyibah (Medina) and his kingdom in Syria."
The meaning of "they have a buzzing sound like the buzzing of bees at night" is:
That is, the hidden sound of glorification, chanting, and reading the Qur’an, like the sound of bees
"A quiet voice in the form of tasbih (Subhanallah), tahlil (Laa Ilaaha Illallah), and the recitation of the Quran like the buzzing of bees". (See the book Mirqat Al Mafatih Syarh Misikat Al Mashabih).
One of the greatest acts of worship is reading the Quran
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both: God has guaranteed to whoever follows the Qur’an that he will not go astray in this world, and will not be miserable in the Hereafter. Then he recited {So whoever follows my guidance will not go astray. He will not be miserable}.
"Abdullah bin Abbas, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "Allah has guaranteed whoever follows the Qur'an, will not go astray in this world and will not lose in the hereafter", then he recited the verse:
{So whoever follows my guidance will neither go astray nor be miserable.}
"Then whoever follows my guidance, he will not go astray and will not suffer". (QS. Thaha: 123) (Atsar sahih narrated in the book Mushannaf Ibnu Abi Shaibah).
On the authority of Khabbab bin Al-Art, may God be pleased with him, he said: “Get close to God as much as you can, and know that you will not get close to God with anything more beloved to Him than His words.”
"Khabbab bin Al Arat radhiyallahu 'anhu said: "Worship God as much as you can and know that you will never worship God with something more beloved to Him than (reading) His words." (Atsar sahih is narrated in the book Syu'ab Al Iman, by Al Baihaqi).
On the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, may God be pleased with him, that he said: “Whoever loves to know that he loves God and His Messenger should look. If he loves the Qur’an, then he loves God and His Messenger.” “.
"Abdullah bin Mas'ud radhiyallahu 'anhu said: "Whoever wants to know that he loves Allah and His Messenger, then notice that if he loves Al Quran then he truly loves Allah and His Messenger." (Atsar sahih is narrated in the book Shu'ab Al Iman, by Al Baihaqi).
Wahib, may God have mercy on him, said: “We looked at these hadiths and sermons, and we did not find anything more tender to the hearts or more arousing sadness than reading the Qur’an, understanding it, and contemplating it.”
"Said Wuhaib, may God have mercy on him: "We have paid attention to these hadiths and advice, so we have not found anything that softens the heart and causes sadness compared to reading the Quran, understanding and reciting it".
