His full name is Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqash bin Uhaib Az-Zuhri with the nickname "Abu Ishaq", He is one of the ten companions who received the good news of entering heaven, and the first person to throw an arrow in the Sabilillah war, he the fourth first converted to Islam through the hands of Abu Bakar when he was 17 years old.
Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqash followed many battles with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in that war he joined the cavalry. He comes from the Zuhrah tribe as well as the Prophet's mother (Aminah).
Umar bin Khaththab's Caliphate appointed him commander of the troops sent to fight the Persians and succeeded in defeating him in 15 AH at Qadisiyah. A year after 16 AH in Julailak he conquered Madain and Bani al-Kuffa in 17 AH.
Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqash was the ruler of Iraq during the reign of Umar bin Khattab which continued during the reign of Uthman bin Affan. He was one of the six companions of the person who was nominated to be Caliph, since the great disaster of the killing of Uthman.
Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqash narrated a hadith from Abdullah bin Abbas, Abdullah bin Umar and Khaulah bint Hakim. The narrator of the hadith from him is Mujahid, Alqamah bin Qais as sa'ib bin Yazid, the most authentic Sanad based on him is the one narrated by Ali bin Husain bin Ali, from Sa'id bin al-Musayyab, from him (Sa'ad bin Abi Waqqash) .
He died in 55 H in Aqiq.
