HISTORY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CHELSEA FC, READ THIS
The history of Chelsea as a football club began on March 14, 1905 when a meeting took place at a pub called The Rising Sun (which is now called The Butcher's Hook pub). Several names that had been candidates for this club were Stamford Bridge FC, Kensington FC and London FC until finally Chelsea FC became the permanent choice.
Chelsea is headquartered at Stamford Bridge stadium which was officially opened on April 28, 1877. The stadium was designed by Scottish architect Archibald Leitch who also designed many other football stadiums in England such as Old Trafford (Manchester United), Celtic Park (Glasgow Celtic), Anfield ( Liverpool), and White Hart Lane (Tottenham Hotspur). Previously, the initial capacity of Stamford Bridge could accommodate 100 thousand spectators and finally underwent various changes to the final capacity of 42,055 spectators now.

Chelsea's mascot is a lion taken from their club logo and named Stamford The Lion. The lion's costume was stolen by two men from Stamford Bridge in July 2005.
Before getting the nickname The Blues until now, Chelsea was also nicknamed The Pensioners (Retirees). This was because their club logo used the image of a retired member of the British Army who lived in the Royal Hospital Chelsea for the first time. Of the players currently playing for the Blues, only Frank Lampard has made the most appearances (392) and goals (121 goals). In addition, Chelsea also holds the longest record of playing at home without losing as many as 86 matches in the Premier League.
